adJustMent OF tHe Head FIt 4 Headset
Important: Since the headset has been assembled and adjusted in the factory, it is functio-
nal from the very first use without prior dismantling.
However, LOOK offers each user the possibility of fine-tuning the adjustment of the com-
pression of the bearings by tightening or loosening the tightening nut.
Begin by manually affixing the tightening nut of
the headset on the threaded insert until it meets
the compression cone of the upper bearing ring.
For further tightening use the wire key recom-
mended by LOOK.
Carefully adjust the headset so there remains no
clearance and the fork can turn freely without
resistance.
Important: Do not tighten the tightening screw so
hard that it binds. This could eventually damage
the bearings prematurely and could result in poor
steering functionality.

1. Place the lower bearing ring on the fork, carefully placing the internal beveled edge on
the fork cone.
2. Insert the steerer tube into the head tube.
3. Place the upper bearing ring in the head tube by placing the external beveled edge
towards the bottom.
4. Prepare the threaded insert sub-assembly with the compression cone then slide
it on the steerer tube until the upper bearing ring.

the fork hole, and insert the pin through the head tube,
this can be a tricky process. Ensure that it is well
centred. It may not exceed the threaded insert so it does
not hamper the tightening of the tightening nut.
At this stage, the fork with its headset and the frame
constitute a sub-assembly. The rest of the fitting allows
adjustment of the headset and fitting of the elements of
the steering control.
6. Tighten the tightening nut on the threaded insert using the supplied key and adjust the
headset so there remains no clearance and the fork can turn freely without resistance.
Once the nut has been tightened, the pin is imprisoned and mechanically keeps it from
coming out.
