VAPORETTO FOCUS
The Focus is an "instant-on" appliance, which means as soon as you plug it in, the
unit begins to work. No steam can escape unless the operator pulls the trigger on
the handle.
The RED light indicates that the unit is plugged in to a grounded outlet. The GREEN
light indicates that steam is being generated.
Simply press down on the dark gray foot pedal to release it. Return the scrubbing
brush to the mop head when finished. Be sure to listen for the "click" that indicates it
is securely in place.
The resting pad creates a moisture barrier when the Focus is not in use. Examples:
you need to temporarily pause while cleaning (such as the phone rings) or when sto-
ring the unit after use in a closet.
For your safety we recommend to always unplug before performing
maintenance work of any kind, including adding water or cleaning the
appliance. When finished, simply plug back in and it will be fully heated in only
30 seconds.
Distilled water has fewer minerals and will therefore keep the heating element from
clogging up. However, you certainly can use just ordinary tap water every time since
the Focus comes with an Anti-Calc filter. Just be sure to replace the filter after every
30 complete water refills.
If your water is particularly "hard", you may need to change the filter every 20 com-
plete water refills.
There is little chance of overheating but we recommend that you only keep the
Focus plugged in when you are actively cleaning. Unplug it when not in use. Since it
heats up in just 30-seconds, there is no need to keep it plugged in when not in use.
There is a rotating rapid-release knob just below the trigger. Just twist the knob face
down and the cord is released. Twist the knob up to rewind and store the cord.
Yes, but you need to be particularly careful to not get too much moisture on the
wood or get too much heat on the wood. Since the Focus as a constant flow of 1.3
oz. of steam per minute, we recommend that you pulse the steam flow by pressing
the trigger every few seconds so moisture doesn't puddle. Be sure to use the micro
fiber cloth attached to the mop head. Do one small section, then use a clean dry
towel to wipe up any excess moisture.
Yes, the Focus works well on laminate floors. Be sure to use the striped scrubbing
cloth for these types of flooring. The striped scrubbing cloth is great for scrubbing
but it also diffuses the heat so that the mop head glides more easily.
Yes, the Focus works well for freshening carpets. Be sure to use the micro fiber cloth
attached to the mop head and then attach the carpet frame, which allows the unit to
glide over carpeting and minimize excess moisture.
Other steam mops tend to have a problem with the cloths coming off during use. The
Focus cloths perfectly attach to the mop head thanks to the built-in hook/loop featu-
re. Once you place the cloth on to the mop head, they stay in place until you pull
them off.
