N.B.: Spring does not need to be changed even in the event of the mobile UPAM support being used (in this case, however, adjust load).
Spring does not need to be changed even in the event of the UPSN articulated joint being used.
When installing the high hip (CSO) refer to the UPGR barrier column for the choice of the spring.
(*) As concerns L≥ ≥ ≥ ≥ ≥ 4000, use the fixed UPAF support (or the mobile UPAM support).
UP4M = Spring with thread ∅ 5 (supplied as standard); UP4MP = Spring with thread ∅ 3.5
Reversal of the direction of the rod
The UP4 Series barriers are normally supplied in the right-hand version. By right barrier we mean that the container is
assembled on the right, as seen from the side that can be inspected. To transform the barrier from right to left:
3.3 Disassemble the top attachment for spring: screw [22], upper spring coupling bracket [23] and nut [24](fig. 8).
3.4 Rotate the lever arm 90° (fig. 8).
3.5 Disassemble the trasmission lever [15] from the lever arm [17] and reassemble it with the top attachment
for spring: screw [22], upper sbring coupling bracket [23] and nut [24] (fig. 8). ATTENTION: Use the screw
[22] and nut [24] of the upper spring coupling to assemble
3.6 Move the electrical board on the opposite side.
3.7 (Only UP4E). Position the DIP1 on ON (fig. 10).
3.8 (Only UP4EL-UP4EH). Position the DIP2 on ON (fig. 10).
Installing the arm and accessories
3.9 Bring the rod bearing flange [9] to a vertical position. Lock the geared motor (see operating instruction).
3.10 Hook on the springs and the spring adjusting stud bolt (fig. 4).
3.11 Install the rod and secure (fig. 5).
3.12 Release the geared motor and position the rod horizontally. Attention: The rod is not secured nor
balanced.
3.13 Assemble any accessories (sensitive rubber profile, apron, container support, etc).
3.14 Spring balancing
N.B.: Spring loading must be made with the rod set vertically.
The UP4-Series barriers come with a separate spring (type UP4M) for a net span of between 2500 to 3500
mm. See table 1 to select the springs according to the net opening of the arm and the presence or absence of
any accessories. The springs are to be selected so that when the motor is released the arm is balanced in the
center (also with already installed accessories) or upwards (fig. 6).
The lever system which supports the springs for safety purposes is constructed in order to have a stable
position with arm completely open or completely closed, even with the motor release. Never use the motor
force to support the weight of the arm. Always use the balancing spring.
3.15 Adjusting the limit switch
-
Adjusting the rod in the horizontal position: make the fine adjustment with the lock (fig. 4, part. 16).
-
Adjust the opening limit switch in order to stop the motor 2-3 mm before the lock (fig. 7).(*)
-
Position the rod vertically and lock (see operating instruction).
-
Adjust the lock for opening 2-3° before the 90° opening. (*)
-
Adjust the opening limit switch in order to stop the motor 2-3 mm before the lock (fig. 7).(*)
(*) with use the barrier recovers the clearance.
ATTENTION: The door of the barrier is impact resistant; it must always be mounted on the container
during the operation of the barrier.
