3.4 Handling brackets
Grip the equilibrium
brackets mesio-distally using crimping tweezers
®
(e.g. REF 025-280-00) to remove them from the packaging and handle
according to the following steps. The patented laser-structured base of
the equilibrium
brackets should not be touched with your fingers or
®
contaminated in any way, as this could otherwise detrimentally affect
the bond.
3.5 Applying bracket adhesive
Prepare the bracket adhesive according to the manufacturer's
instructions. Apply a small amount of adhesive to the center of the
bracket base, enough to wet the entire bracket base. This guarantees
an optimum bond.
3.6 Placing brackets - direct bonding
After applying the adhesive, place the equilibrium
bracket in the usual
®
way onto the tooth. Place the equilibrium
bracket in the best possible
®
position and press it onto the tooth so that excess adhesive is pushed
out to the sides.
Avoid contact with antagonist teeth due to the risk of abrasion and / or
premature bracket loss. If necessary, a palatal bite raise can be used.
Completely remove any excess adhesive before it has cured. This is
particularly important to ensure easy debonding at the end of treatment.
