3. Important Safety Information

The manufacturer is not liable for death, injury, or damage to the product or
motorcycle when using this product in the following cases:
• Faulty assembly or installation.
• Installation over freshly painted, sealed, waxed, or otherwise chemi-
cally treated motorcycles.
• Damage to the product resulting from heat or mechanical effects.
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the ma-
nufacturer.
• Use for purposes other than those described in this instruction ma-
nual.
• Failure to follow any instructions in this instruction manual.
Understanding Signal Words
A signal word will identify safety messages and property damage messa-
ges and will indicate the degree or level of hazard seriousness:
WARNING
CAUTION
NOTICE
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious in-
jury and property damage.
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not
avoided, could result in mild to moderate in-
jury and property damage.
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not
avoided, could result in property damage.
