❑ Verify that there is water flow to the drain when the system is in regeneration
and no drain flow when the system is in service.
❑ Verify that the system meters by opening a faucet and seeing if the meter disk inside of
the clear cap on the control head moves one tooth after 2 minutes.

Sanitization Procedure
A. Regenerate the system with sodium chloride (salt). Use a clean grade of salt appropriate for use with
water treatment equipment. DO NOT USE ROCK SALT.
B. Mix one fluid ounce of unscented household bleach in one gallon of clean/soft water.
C. Disconnect the 3/8" brine line from the brine valve, and place the brine line into the container holding
the bleach mixture prepared in the previous step.
D. Manually put the system into brine draw.
E. Draw the mixture until you begin to detect a strong bleach odor in the drain line.
F. Immediately place system into by-pass position and allow it to stand for 60 minutes.
G. Reconnect the brine line to the brine valve. Move by-pass valve into service position and start a manual
regeneration (see procedure pictured above). After regeneration cycle is complete, run an additional
backwash and then return unit to service.
