6. Safety instructions for use of the jack
6.1 Important safety information and safety instructions
The statutory accident prevention regulations (UVV) as well as all other generally recognised rules on safety and occu-
pational medicine for power-driven work implements shall be observed.
Any use going beyond the scope of the above shall be deemed misuse. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any
damage resulting from the same.
In order to guarantee safe operation, it is important to ensure that the jack is only used, maintained or repaired by
expertly trained personnel.
Qualified personnel shall be those individuals who, due to their training, experience and instruction as well as know-
ledge of applicable standards, conditions and accident prevention regulations, are determined to be suitably autho-
rised to carry out respectively required activities and those who are able to detect and avoid potential hazards in the
process.
The operator must ensure that all persons entrusted with the operation, care and maintenance as well as servicing
of the machine have read and understood the operation manual, and comply with all points contained in the same, in
order:
- to avoid hazards to life and physical wellbeing of the user and any third parties
- to ensure the operational safety of the jack
- to avoid downtime and environmental damage caused by incorrect handling
The responsibilities when performing work tasks must be clearly defined and complied with, to ensure there is no lack
of understanding with regard to any competencies from the aspect of safety.
Mechanical maintenance operations shall be performed regularly and to the specified extent.
After general maintenance work, all disassembled safety devices must be professionally re-assembled.
The protective devices and their protective effect must be checked by an expert before putting the device back into
operation.
The disassembly, stoppage and / or overriding of isolating protective devices (covering, protective cladding etc.) and/or
protective safety installations (dead man's handle, overload valve etc.) may result in severe harm or material damage
and is thus strictly prohibited by the manufacturer!!
The manufacturer agrees to guarantee the jack in accordance with the sales terms and delivery conditions.
The guarantee claim shall be null and void if:
- Damage is caused by improper operation
- Repairs or interventions are performed by unauthorised personnel
- The accessories and spare parts used are not suitable for the jack
- Breakdowns must be reported immediately on detection
The jack must be labelled accordingly.
Any defects shall be immediately remedied, to minimise the scope of damage and avoid affecting the safety of the
device.
Failure to comply with the above will render the guarantee null and void.
The manufacturer reserves the right to make modifications in the interests of technical improvements.

6.2 General safety instructions

The jack is constructed in accordance with the latest technology and is delivered in a ready-to-use state.
The working principle, function and operability of the jack mean it is not possible to ensure all sites and parts are either
covered or protected.
Compliance in terms of personal safety measures on the part of the user is therefore crucial in the interests of perso-
nal protection and prevention of damage to the device and the items to be lifted.
The jack may only be deployed and operated within the scope of the conditions specified in the contract concerning
service and delivery.
Retrofitting, modifications or alterations made to the jack are, in principle, prohibited and shall require prior consulta-
tion with the manufacturer at all times. If, during operation (residual) hazards and risks emerge, the scope of which is
not specified in the existing operation manual, the operator shall be obliged to inform the manufacturer of the same.
