1. Turn off and unplug all connected equipment from the UPS receptacles.
2. Turn off and unplug the UPS from the AC wall outlet.
3. Slide the compartment cover on the front panel downward, and then outwards in
order to remove it completely from the unit.
4. Disconnect the battery connectors, as shown below.
Caution – Be careful not to short the positive and negative wires of the battery.
5. Grasp the tab attached to the battery and gently pull the battery module out of the
UPS. Never pull on the wires when trying to remove the old battery.
6. Slide the new battery module into the UPS, making sure to follow the correct
polarity on the battery terminals. Verify that replacement battery is the same type
and capacity as the one originally installed, and dispose of old batteries properly at
an appropriate recycling facility.
7. Then, proceed to reattach the battery connectors at the UPS and battery ends.
Note: Small sparks at the battery connectors are normal during re-connection
8. Replace the compartment cover of the UPS by sliding it upwards until it locks in
place.
Note: Optional screws are provided with the unit in case you want to secure the
bottom of the front panel.
9. The new battery must be charged for at least 5 hours to its full capacity.
8. Storage
• All connected equipment should be turned off prior to disconnecting them from
the UPS to avoid battery drain. Unplug the UPS from the wall outlet and then turn it
off for storage.
• Store the UPS unit covered in environments where the ambient temperature
ranges from -4 to 122°F with its battery fully charged.
• During extended storage, charge the UPS battery for 1-2 hours at least once every
3 months, as per the chart below.
