The fax accessory is not communicating with the mfp. Check the
following conditions:
Verify that the mfp is on.
Check for a loosely connected or damaged parallel cable.
Make sure the correct firmware is installed.

The PCMCIA phone card is not fully inserted. Push firmly on the
card to make sure it is seated in the fax accessory.
The country/region setting is not configured.
The fax accessory has encountered a system error. Reset the
device by unplugging the power cable. Wait 15 seconds, then plug
the power cable back in.
