Troubleshooting

Problem
Engine will not start with jump
starter connected
After disconnecting jump starter
and running the engine for several
minutes the vehicle will not
start again
AC device will not operate
with inverter
AC device runs hot or is
more noisy than normal but
operates satisfactorily
AC device with a built-in timer or
clock is not keeping accurate time
so its functions are not correctly
timed
Compressor function abnormal,
or compressor not working

Possible cause
Vehicle battery at very low charge level
Jump starter battery not fully charged
Jump starter below the required capacity for engine
type and capacity
Vehicle battery faulty
Insufficient charge in vehicle battery
Alternator not providing battery charging current
Vehicle battery faulty
Incompatible AC device is connected
Current or starting current requirements of AC device
are too high
Inductive load AC device not compatible with modified
sine wave AC
AC device not fully compatible with modified sine
wave AC
If the device uses the AC waveform to regulate its timer
rather than a crystal oscillator it will not work correctly
with a modified sine wave inverter
Compressor used beyond 5 minutes
Solution
Vehicle battery will require charging with a suitable battery charger
Ensure jump starter is regularly charged to ensure always ready for use
Jump starter suitable for petrol engines up to 2800cc and diesel engines up to
2200cc. These capacities are approximate and based on a reasonable level of
existing charge in the vehicle's battery
Replace vehicle battery
Follow jump starter procedure again to increase time of vehicle
battery charging
Vehicle alternator requires maintenance/repair
Replace vehicle battery
Disconnect AC device
AC device not compatible
Try connecting a low-power resistive load device, like a small
filament lamp, at the same time. This may cause the inductive load device
to function
It is recommended not to use the AC device
Device is not fully compatible
Operate for a maximum of 5 minutes only and allow 5 minutes to cool
before reusing
