Warning notices - Structure and meaning
Warning notices indicate hazards and their
consequences for the user or surrounding persons.
Warning notices also describe the measures for
preventing these hazards. The signal word has a
crucial importance. It indicates the probability of
occurrence and the severity of the hazard in case of
non-compliance:

Below you will see an example of the "Live parts"
warning notice by way of example, with the signal word
DANGER:
DANGER – Exposure of live parts on open-
ing the FSA !
Risk of (fatal) injury or heart failure from elec-
tric shocks on contact with live components.
¶
Work on electrical installations or equip-
ment is only to be performed by qualified
electricians or trained personnel under the
guidance and supervision of an electrician.
¶
Disconnect FSA 500 from the mains be-
fore opening.

Observe all warning notices on products and ensure
they remain legible!
Attention is to be paid to these operating instructions
as well as all the technical documentation for the tester
and the components used.
DANGER – Risk of electric shock if measure-
ments are taken on motor vehicles without
connecting cable B–!
Measurements taken with connecting cable
B– not connected to vehicle ground or the
negative post of the battery will result in
injury, heart failure or fatal electric shocks.
¶
Connect the FSA 500 by way of connect-
ing cable B – to vehicle ground or the
negative post of the battery.
¶
Heed the following connection sequence.
Caution!
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Connect the FSA 500 to the battery (B–) or engine
ground.
3. Switch on the ignition.
Caution!
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the FSA 500 from the battery (B–) or engine
ground.
DANGER – Risk of electric shock from ex-
cessively high measurement voltage.
The measurement of voltages in excess of 200
V using Multi measurement leads CH1 / CH2
will result in injury, heart failure or fatal elec-
tric shocks.
¶
Multi measurement leads CH1 / CH2 are
only to be used for measuring voltages up
to max. 200 V.
¶
Never use Multi measurement leads CH1 /
CH2 to measure mains or similar voltages.
Disposal
Dispose of used electrical and electronic
devices, including cables, accessories and
