Only connect electrical signals to suitable
connecting points in the vehicle.
A
For direct connection of permanent positive
(red wire) to the battery, the fuse must be no
further than 10 - 15 cm from the positive terminal
of the battery. If it is necessary to extend the
positive lead, an additional 10 A fuse must be
provided close to the battery (max. distance

fire hazard.
12 V permanent positive (red):
Connect red wire to a suitable connector
with 12 V permanent positive.

This connection should be rated for a current
of at least 2 amps.

circuit switched through the ignition
(ACC).
Battery negative (brown)

Connect white/brown wire to the mute
input on the car radio.
Navigation computer (PC 54XX, PC 54XXpro,

Plug the blue C3 power supply lead connector
of the CI 3000 in the C3' socket of the
navigation computer.
Connect the vehicle hands-free unit
(Car Kit), Fig. 5 - 6
Various connection configurations are
required depending on the Car Kit. Two basic

Connecting the hands-free unit via the
serial port, Fig. 8
In some exceptional cases, the hands-free unit
can also be connected to the serial port of the
CI 3000. Information regarding compatible
hands-free units and mobile phones can be
obtained from our website,
www.vdodayton.com.
Connection to the MC 5400, Fig. 9
The CI 3000 can be connected to an MC 5400

lead CA 3050.
The MC 5400 must be set to "CI 3000" in the
"Internet Access –> Settings –> Mobile" menu
in order to ensure proper functioning.
Connection to the MC 5400 is not possible in
conjunction with CIX 3000 Blue.
Connection to a laptop, Fig. 10
A notebook or laptop can be connected to the
serial port of the CI 3000 using adapter lead
CA 3050 (accessory). This enables the
establishment of a modem connection via the
mobile phone.
The following settings must be made for
communication with the serial (COM) port of
the PC:
Speed: 38400 bps
Data bits: 8
Parity: none
