Legs:
When epilating behind the knee, keep the leg
stretched out straight.
Sensitive areas:
First thoroughly clean and carefully dry sensitive
areas to remove residues (like deodorant). When
epilating the underarm, keep your arm raised up so
that the skin is stretched and guide the appliance in
different directions. As skin may be more sensitive
after epilation, avoid using irritating substances
such as deodorants with alcohol.
Face:
Before epilating, clean your skin thoroughly with a
disinfecting toner containing alcohol. Stretch the
skin with one hand and slowly guide the epilator
with your other hand in the direction of the light.
Cleaning the epilation head
After use, turn off the appliance and clean the
epilation head:
Remove the cap (1a/b). Brush out the tweezers
while turning the tweezer element manually. Take
off the epilator head and gently tap it to remove
hairs from inside the head.
If a thorough cleaning is needed, you may hold the
appliance with the epilation head under hot running
water. Then take off the epilation head and shake
off remaining water. Make sure it is dry before
reattaching.
General information on epilation
All methods of hair removal from the root can lead to
irritation (e.g. itching, discomfort and reddening of
the skin) depending on the condition of the skin and
hair. This is a normal reaction and should quickly
disappear, but may be stronger when you are
removing hair at the root for the first few times or if
you have sensitive skin.
In general, skin reactions and the sensation of pain
tend to diminish considerably with repeated use.
If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows irritation, we
recommend that you contact your physician.
To minimize the risk of infection or inflammation due
to bacteria penetrating the skin when it comes to
micro-injuries, thoroughly clean the epilation head
and your skin before each use.
If you have any doubts about using this appliance,
please consult your physician. In the following
cases, this appliance should only be used after prior
consultation with a physician: eczema, wounds,
inflamed skin reactions such as folliculitis (purulent
hair follicles) and varicose veins around moles,
reduced immunity of the skin, e.g. diabetes mellitus,
during pregnancy, Raynaud's disease, haemophilia,
candida or immune deficiency.
Body treatment (B)
The exfoliation brush (13) helps avoid ingrown hair
8
by removing dead skin cells. It also improves epilat-
ing results when used 1-2 days before epilation.
The deep massage pad (14) helps improve the skin
appearance.
You may use the exfoliation brush/ deep massage
pad on a weekly basis on wet skin during your
shower routine with your preferred body scrub or
shower gel.
The deep massage pad may even be used more fre-
quently with body lotion or massage oil.
When using the appliance in a bathtub, do not
immerse it fully in water since this will not provide
optimum results.
How to use
Click the brush adapter (12) provided with brush (13)
or pad (14) onto the appliance. Slowly guide the
appliance in a circular motion over your skin to
gently refine it. Avoid holding it on the same skin
area for prolonged time. Do not use it on your face.
Cleaning
After use, rinse the brush/pad (13/14) under running
water. If needed, you may use some liquid soap for a
thorough cleaning.
The silicone cap on the deep massage pad (14)
needs to be removed to make sure there is no more
water left inside.
Before storing the exfoliation brush (13), attach the
protective cap.
With weekly use, we recommend that you replace
the brush/pad after 12 months. Refills (ref. no.79
Spa) are available from your retailer or Braun
Service Centres or via www.service.braun.com.
Shaving (C)
The shaver head (11) is designed for a fast and close
shave of legs, underarms and bikini area. Shave on
dry skin to obtain best results.
For trimming hairs to 3 mm length, attach the trim-
mer comb (10) and guide it flat over the skin, against
the direction of hair growth.
Cleaning
Do not clean the shaver foil with the brush as this
may damage it. The shaver head can be cleaned
under running water. For drying purposes, remove
the shaving unit. Lubricate it regularly (1. foil/
2. trimmers).
