Remove taillights: Open tailgate. Find the opening behind the taillights and unscrew the wing-shaped handle using flat screwdriver. Unclip the wiring harness. Remove the taillights
by gently pulling rearward.
2.
Remove bumper fascia: (a) Using T15 torxbit socket, remove (4) plastic screws and tabs from bottom fascia. (b) Using T25 torxbit socket, remove (1) vertical screw from the bottom
of wheel well liner, (3) horizontal screws from the side wheel well liner, and (1) vertical screw in the upper edge behind wheel well liner, both sides. (c) Using plastic trim tools,
remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling the fascia. (d) Disconnect the wiring harness from fascia if present. Set fascia aside.
3.
Remove bumper beam: Using a 13 mm socket with 6" extension, remove (7) factory M8 bolts holding bumper beam to end panel. Return bolts to owner.
4.
Install hitch: Align the bumper beam with hitch on the floor. Raise the hitch and bumper beam into position aligning holes on the end panel. Loosely install (7) M8 bolts ① to the
bumper beam and hitch, see Figure 1.

Tighten all M8 bolts with torque wrench to 25 Lb.-Ft. (34 N*M)
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
6.
Trim bumper fascia: Locate the opening on the bottom fascia and trim the area as shown in Figure 2.
7.
Reinstall all fasteners, wiring harness, fascia, wheel well liners, and taillights.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for
connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
