In order to achieve the best
possible filtration performance,
we recommend placing the filter
cartridge in tap water for five
minutes prior to the first use.
Then, pour out the water or use
for watering plants, etc.
Afterwards, insert the cartridge
into the funnel by applying slight
pressure.
Thanks to the large depression in
the lid, you can fill the carafe with
water when the lid is closed. The
stream of water activates the
tilting mechanism and the flap
valve opens. The flap valve closes
again once the stream of water
stops.
We recommend pouring out the
first batch of filtered water or using
it for watering plants, etc. It is
possible for black particles from
active carbon to be flushed out
during the first filling. These are
completely harmless to your health.
If this happens, we recommend
pouring out filtered batches until
the water is clear and free of
carbon particles.
Your WMF filter carafe is now ready for use.
Important Information Regarding Proper Use
The water filtration system may only be used for
cold water that meets the statutory requirements
for drinking water quality.
It is not suitable for producing drinking water from
contaminated water.
The filtered water is not intended to be kept for a
long period of time. It should be stored in a cool
location away from direct sunlight and for no
longer than 24 hours.
If the filtered water is in the carafe for longer than
24 hours, white rings may form due to evaporation.
These are easily removed when cleaning.
If more than 3 litres of water are filtered in a row,
we recommend stopping for at least 15 minutes.
The filter cartridge does not need to be in constant
contact with water in order to guarantee its
functionality.
If you are asked by the authorities to boil tap water
as a result of contamination, this also applies to
the filtered water from the carafe. As soon as the
tap water is officially classified as safe again, the
water filtration system must be cleaned and the
filter cartridge must be replaced.
The filtered water should be boiled for certain
