For hygiene reasons, the filter cartridge also
contains small amounts of silver to suppress the
growth of germs. A small amount of silver may be
released into the water. It is harmless and complies
with the World Health Organisation's (WHO)
relevant recommendations for drinking water.
The filter cartridges should be exchanged four
weeks after their first use at the latest.
Filter Cartridge Effectiveness
The useful life of a filter cartridge varies because
water quality is not the same everywhere. The
harder the water, the faster the cartridge is
depleted.
You can ask your local water company for your
water's exact degree of hardness.
The capacity of the Mg2+ long life cartridge with
hard water is 120 litres, which corresponds to 85
fillings.
The water filtration system meets the microbiolo-
gical requirements for water filters and the require-
ments for chlorine, lead and copper retention in
accordance with DIN 10521.

Information Regarding Cartridge Replacement
The filter carafe is equipped with an automatic
change indicator. The digital display in the lid
counts the number of fillings (not the filtered
litres) and gives a flashing signal when the
cartridge should be replaced.
At the latest, the cartridge should be changed after
four weeks, regardless of whether the number of
fillings has been exhausted.
Automatic Change Indicator
To activate the change indicator, press the button
below the digital display for about five seconds.
The display automatically sets itself to zero. From
then on, every filling is counted. The indicator
begins to flash as soon as the number of fillings or
the maximum useful life is exceeded. Then it is
time to change the cartridge and reset the
indicator in the display to zero.
The service life of the automatic change indicator
is designed to be about 3.5 years.
Pause Feature
Using the pause feature, you can interrupt the
useful life of the filter cartridge, at the weekend
for example. empty the water out of the carafe.
