See Figure 1 on page 19. Using the alarm's housing as a tem-
plate, scribe two drill position marks through the holes in the
mounting flanges (one on each side of the housing). Drill 21/64"
holes at the position marks.

Secure the unit on the vehicle with user-supplied 5/16" bolts and
locknuts or user-supplied 5/16" bolts, lockwashers, and nuts.
Improper grounding could cause the alarm to function im-
properly and result in death or serious injury to those who
rely on this device for safety. The ground connection (–)
must be attached to a solid metal body or chassis part that
will provide a dependable ground path for as long as the
device is to be used.

Using two 18 AWG (minimum) user-supplied wires, complete the
wiring as shown in Figure 2 on page 20. The plus (+) and minus
(–) connections are marked on the housing.
NOTE: The backup alarm is sensitive to polarity and will not op-
erate when connected backwards.

Affix the yellow Warning Label provided to the dashboard of the
vehicle in plain view of the operator and test the alarm for proper
operation.

All effective backup alarms produce loud sounds which may
cause, in certain situations, permanent hearing loss. You should
follow your employer's hearing conservation program and safety
guidelines for instructions as to whether you should wear hear-
ing protection.
