6. Pick up the Quick-serter and pull the handle down until it
clicks.

Twist the needle guard until loose. Carefully remove the
needle guard. Do not touch or bend the needle.
8. Place the Quick-serter at the desired infusion site. Then,
press the two side buttons at the same time to insert the
infusion set.
9. Press the release button on top of the Quick-serter to release
the infusion set.
10. Hold the infusion set tubing with one hand. Then, remove the
Quick-serter by lifting it away from your body with your other
hand.
11. Pull the needle housing away from the infusion set with one
hand. Gently press the tape against your skin with your other
hand.
12. Close the needle housing. Then, discard the shielded needle
in a sharps container.
13. Smooth out the tape securely against your skin.
Cleaning
The MiniMed Quick-serter is intended for single-patient use.
Always clean the serter after each use.
To clean the serter, you will need the following materials: mild
liquid soap (for example, Ivory
toothbrush, and a container.
To clean the serter:
1.
Rinse the serter under running room temperature tap water
for 30 seconds. Make sure all hard-to-reach areas are rinsed
completely.
2. Prepare a mild liquid soap solution using one teaspoon (five
milliliters) of mild liquid soap with one gallon (16 cups or
3.8 liters) of room temperature tap water.
3. Fully submerge the serter in the mild liquid soap solution
and soak it for one minute.
