5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: It is possible that air has got into the hydraulic system, causing poor lifting performance. Purge any air from the system by fully opening
release valve (turn handle counterclockwise as shown), then while holding the boom down, operate pump handle rapidly several times.
1.
To raise the extension boom, close the release valve on the hydraulic ram. Then, pump the handle until the extension boom reaches the desired
height.
2.
To extend the length of the extension boom, remove the axle. Pull out on the extension boom until the desired extension hole in the boom aligns
with the hole in the extension boom. Then re-insert the axle through the holes in the boom and extension boom, and lock the axle in place
with the locking pin.
WARNING! Do not exceed the maximum lifting capacities of this tool. Exceeding the maximum lifting capacities could cause personal injury and/or
3.
property damage. The longer the extension boom is extended, the lower the lifting capacity of this hydraulic workshop crane.
4.
Position the hydraulic workshop crane so that the hook is directly above the object you wish to lift.
5.
WARNING! Stay clear of the hydraulic workshop crane. Never go under an object being lifted by the hydraulic workshop crane. It is possible for the
hook to slip, causing an object to fall, possibly resulting in serious injury and/or property damage. Always monitor the object being lifted so it does not
rock back and forth.
6.
Open the release valve slightly to lower the Hook. Attach the hook to the object you are lifting, and make sure the safety latch on the hook is
fully closed. Then close the release valve, and pump the handle to raise the object. Carefully move the hydraulic workshop crane to the location where
you wish to lower the object, i.e., an engine stand, proper support, floor surface, etc. Then lower the object by opening the release valve slightly.
7.
Once the object is fully lowered, disconnect the hook from the object. Then store the hydraulic workshop crane (unfolded or folded) in a clean, dry, safe
location out of reach of children and other unauthorized people.
NOTE: Before raising the legs to the storage position, bolt and nut must be inserted into the base support and tightened each time. If this procedure is
not followed the unit may fall over.
6. MAINTENANCE (§ 7.1.3 de l'EN 1494+A1)
Important: Both the maintenance and repair of this hydraulic workshop crane may only be carried out by qualified and authorized personnel, who as a result
of their training and experience are familiar with the hydraulic systems used in these devices.
1.
Clean and lubricate the axes of the moving parts of the hydraulic workshop crane at regular intervals. The hydraulic workshop crane should be kept
clean and protected from aggressive conditions at all times.
2.
Only original spare parts should be used.
3.
Withdraw the hydraulic workshop crane from service if it is suspected that it has been subjected to abnormal loads or has suffered any type of knock
until the problem has been resolved.
4.
If the oil level needs to be checked or refilled, dismantle the hydraulic unit and with the piston fully retracted, remove the filler plug and drain its
contents into a container. With the hydraulic in a horizontal position, proceed to introduce the necessary volume for each model as indicated in these
instructions. Avoid the entrance of any dirt with the new oil.
Important: An excess of oil over the volume required may affect the operation of the crane.
5.
Only use hydraulic oil, type
6.
When the hydraulic workshop crane is not in use, it should be fully retracted in the lowest position so as to minimize piston corrosion. It is
recommendable to apply an anti-corrosion product to the main piston and to the pump.
7.
Store the hydraulic workshop crane in a dry, clean place, out of the reach of children.
8.
At the end of the useful life of the hydraulic workshop crane, drain off the oil and hand it over to an authorised agent and dispose of the
remaining parts in accordance with local regulations.
9.
Both the repair kit, which exclusively contains the retainers and joints and the spare part sets must be ordered using the reference
assigned in the table.
7. TROUBLE SHOOTING

The reservoir could be overfilled.
Low hydraulic oil level.
The pump cup seal could be worn out.
Air block.
Unit requires lubrication.
Probable cause
Remedy
- Lower lifting boom. Close the release valve and
remove oil filler plug.
- Place one foot on the leg and pull up the lifting
boom to its full height by hand.
- Open the release valve to lower the lifting boom.
- Worn seals.
- Open the release valve and remove oil filler plug.
- Pump handle a couple of full strokes and close
the release valve.
- Check the oil level. Remove the filler plug.
- Top up oil to correct level.
- Replace cup seal with a new one.
- Release air from hydraulic pump by removing filler
plug.
- Oil external moving parts.
