Placing your child in the Rodi XP
Read the "Seat belt" section before placing your child in the Rodi XP. Have your child sit in the car seat with his back
firmly against the backrest (Fig. 15). Make sure there are no toys or other hard objects in the shell.
Pull the seat belt around your child. Place the lap belt under both armrests (Fig. 15-1). If positioned properly, the belt
should be threaded through the red-coloured plastic openings in the booster seat. Fasten the seat buckle (Fig. 15-2)
and pull the lap belt tighten. Make sure the lap belt does not rest on the child's stomach but on his pelvis, and that it is
GB
secured tightly. This way, in the case of an accident a large percentage of the crash forces will be transferred to the
pelvis region.
Thread the shoulder belt under the armrest through the red-marked opening in the booster seat and then through the
red belt hook in the headrest (Fig. 15-3). Make sure the belt is not twisted and that it is resting on the child's shoulder.
Make sure the headrest has been adjusted to the correct height. You can determine the correct height as follows:
• Make sure the red-marked belt hooks are located at least 10 mm above your child's shoulders (Fig. 16).
• Adjust the height of the headrest until the belt runs from the belt hook to the seat belt retractor in as straight a line
as possible (Fig. 17).
• Make sure the belt is not resting against your child's neck. Lower the headrest if necessary to prevent this.
• If the car seat belt is height adjustable, you can optimise the routing of the belt by adjusting the height.
• Finally, pull the shoulder belt as tightly as possible.
When removing your child from the seat, you only need to release the belt buckle and pull the belt away from your
child. The belt will remain threaded through the red belt hook. This makes is easier to buckle up your child again.
When not in use, it is advisable to secure the Rodi XP with the seat belt.
IMPORTANT: The tighter the seat belt, the better protected your child.
Cleaning and maintenance
Remove the Rodi XP from the car before cleaning.
• The seat should be cleaned using lukewarm water and soap. Do not use abrasive detergents or thinner.
• The cover should be washed by hand at a maximum temperature of 30º C. Do not put it in the dryer (also see
washing instructions).
• It is advisable to buy an extra cover when purchasing the Rodi XP, so that you can use the Rodi XP at all times (such
as when the cover is being cleaned or drying).
Removing the cover
• Remove the Rodi XP from the car.
• Disassemble the back- and headrest as described under "Disassembling the backrest".
Booster seat
• Remove the cover from the hooks underneath (Fig. 18-1) and on top (Fig. 18-2).
• Pull the cover out from under the rim of the plastic red-marked openings (Fig. 18-3) and then from the back pull it
forward across the armrests (Fig. 18-4).
• The cover should now be fully removed from the booster seat.
