4. USE
Install the controller (see ch. 2.2), connect the sensor noting the polarity, as well as the output
and alarm loads, as applicable.
Check the wiring then connect the power supply (see ch. 2.3).
Select the setpoint value by turning the central button
so as to align the marker line opposite
the required temperature on the dial
.
STATOP 9601:
The OUT light
is red as long as the temperature measured is less than the setpoint (in the
case of inverse control, see ch. 5.3). It changes to green as soon as the measurement-
setpoint balance is established. The «control» output then becomes inactive.
STATOP 9604:
The temperature measured is shown directly on the display . The OUT light is lit as long as
the measurement remains below the setpoint («control» output active).
On the measurement-setpoint balance, correct any gap there may be using the RESET
potentiometer
until it coincides perfectly. This manual integral action offsets the proportional
band in relation to the setpoint.
If the instrument is fitted with an alarm, the adjustment of the setpoint is done by means of
the ALARM potentiometer
in a range of -10% to +10% around the value of the setpoint.
For example, for a STATOP 9604 of range 600°C with a setpoint set at 500°C, the alarm
threshold would be adjustable between 450 and 550°C.
The light
comes on as soon as the measured temperature reaches the threshold which has
been set.
