WHAT IS NEEDED:
Some newsprint to protect the work surface - A large saucepan - A wooden spoon - A tablespoon.
MAKING A WAX CANDLE:
Install the wick upside down in the mould. The metal base must rest on the plastic stand. Cut the length of your wick if it is too long.
Clip the other part of the mould by firmly pressing on the clamping. (Ensure that the wick remains properly in place). Apply some adhesive
tape along the mould for improved adherence and to prevent any runs.
Prepare your quantity of wax by observing the dosage indicated in the manual. Pour the wax in the "double boiler" bowl. To colour your candle,
break small pieces of wax crayons that are then incorporated in the wax. The more pieces added, the deeper the colour.
Next, use the "double boiler technique" to melt the wax. Place your "double boiler" bowl in a large saucepan containing water. Gently boil
water over low heat and regularly stir the wax with a wooden spatula.
ATTENTION! The temperature of the wax must not exceed 70°C. To check, wet a spoon 3 seconds in the wax. A wax deposit must appear on the
spoon. If this is not the case, then the wax is too hot, and the saucepan must be removed from the heat.
Set your tealight holder or mould on some newsprint. Pour the wax in your container with an adult's help. Let cool for a few hours.
Once the candle has cooled, a hollow will form around the wick. To fill this hollow, it is necessary to again pour in a little melted wax.
Ask an adult to help you to equalise the base of your candle by cutting the excess parts of the candle. Allow approximately 1 cm of wick to extend
past the top of the candle.
ATTENTION! Always set your candle on a glass or porcelain dish while it is lit. A lit candle must always remain supervised.
This step must be performed with an adult.
