WHAT IS NEEDED:
Some newsprint to protect the work surface - A large saucepan - A wooden spoon - A tablespoon.
MAKING A GEL CANDLE
Cut the wick based on the height of the candle. Set the wick in the desired tealight holder by pouring a little bit of melted gel in the bottom.
Keep any pieces of cut wick for use in floating candles.
Cut out pieces of gel approximately 2 cm wide using scissors. Pour the pieces in the "double boiler" bowl and add the coloured wax pieces.
Use the "double boiler technique" to melt the gel. Place your "double boiler" bowl in a large saucepan containing some water. Gently boil water
over low heat and regularly stir the gel with a wooden spatula. Once the gel becomes liquid, remove the saucepan from the heat.
ATTENTION! Above 65°, the gel may ignite.
Set your tealight holder on some newsprint. Pour the gel in your container with an adult's help. Let cool for a few hours. Allow approximately 1
cm of wick to extend past the top of the candle.
ATTENTION! Always set your candle on a glass or porcelain dish while it is lit. A lit candle must always remain supervised.
