instructions for use
The logical further development of the predecessor product Presto Vest.
Description:
Presto Vest ii is a phosphate-bon-
ded, special speed investment for
crown and bridge work. A new
form of grain distribution allows
Presto Vest ii to be placed in a pre-
heated furnace at 850°C, just 15
minutes after investing. it is ready
to cast after 45 - 60 minutes de-
pending on the size of the ring.
Presto Vest ii is graphite-free and
suitable for casting all types of
dental alloy.
Waxing up:
Optimum fit and surface quality are best achieved using patterns fabricated entirely from wax. Using resins
often results in much poorer surface quality and cracks in the mould with the speed cast technique. this
applies parti-cularly to waxing up removable sections of attachment and telescopic crown work.
Crown and bridge work:
Mix Presto Vest ii according to the instructions and pour it up to the patterns without vibration. then vibrate
gently into the patterns using a small instrument, if necessary. Fill the ring completely without any further vi-
bration. Adhere strictly to the time given in the instructions for the speed technique.
Use of pressure:
investing under pressure is not necessary due to Premium's extremely homogenous grain distribution. if
investing under pressure is preferred, the pressure should be released after 15 minutes so that it does not
impede the setting expansion.
Preheating for speed casting:
Place the mould in a preheated furnace at 850°C, 15 minutes after mixing the investment. ensure that there
is a space of approx. 5.0 mm between the mould and the furnace floor by placing the mould on pieces of
investment or stilts. if a different preheating temperature is required for the alloy being cast, the tempera-
ture can be adjusted after the first 15 minutes. the furnace fan and extractor should remain switched off
during the first 15 minutes and the furnace door should not be opened because of the risk of instant com-
bustion. the preheating time for size 3 rings is approx. 40 minutes and for size 6 rings approx. 60 minutes.
