INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Failure to follow these instructions could result in
property damage, personal injury, or death.
Surface Preparation:
Always install your heater on a clean even surface for optimum performance and longevity. Debris and
residue on the surface can not only damage your heater but may also reduce the effectiveness of the
heater by reducing the heat transfer between the surface and the heater.
Remove or avoid contact with sharp edges including rough corners, weld spatter, exposed bolts,
etc.
Remove or avoid contact with rust, stickers, or other coverings.
Remove oil, moisture, gel and other liquids.
Instructions:
Wrap the heater around the cylinder and secure the heater using the extra-long strap. It is important that
the heater fits tightly. Check to make sure that the area behind the thermostat which is near the edge of
the heater is making good contact with the surface of the cylinder.
After positioning the heater on the cylinder, insert the plug into a polarized outlet (appropriately rated for
your heater's voltage). When plugged in, the heater will automatically begin to heat. When the surface
temperature of the cylinder reaches approximately 158°F (70°C) at the built-in sensor, the heater will
automatically shut-off. The heater will automatically begin to heat again when the surface temperature of
the cylinder drops to approximately 147°F (64°C) at the built-in sensor. The heater will begin to cycle on/
off under normal thermostatic control to maintain the cylinder surface temperature at 147°F (64°C) to
158°F (70°C) at the built-in sensor.
The built-in thermostat is designed to maintain approximately 120°F (49°C) actual surface temperature of
the cylinder in 32°F (0°C) ambient conditions. Variations in ambient temperature and material contents
within the cylinder may affect the surface temperature of the cylinder.
DO NOT leave the heater unattended.
NOT suitable for use in wet conditions.
DO NOT attempt to disassemble the heater or make any modifications to the heater. The heater is
engineered for maximum performance and reliability.
ALWAYS inspect the heater and cordset before each use to ensure it is free of damage and loose or
frayed wires.
DO NOT Attempt to use the heater if the heater or cordset is damaged or has loose or frayed wires.
Contact BriskHeat if repair is necessary.
