Hanging hook
The hanging hook (18) is designed for hanging the
tool. Do not load it with extra weight.
Only hang the tool on components that can support
its weight.
7.4

LED light

The powerful LED (11) illuminates the cutting line
when the tool is switched on.

8. Maintenance and Cleaning

Remove the battery pack from the tool before
any adjustments, conversions, servicing or
cleaning are performed.
Deposits of dust and shavings must be regularly
removed from the tool. This includes cleaning the
ventilation slits on the motor with a vacuum cleaner.
Also unscrew the saw blade protection plates (17)
with the Allen key (6) and remove the dirt and
shavings.
Check the alignment of the saw blade on a
regular basis. See page 2, Fig. A. The saw blade
is set correctly if it is centred on the guide rollers
(12) and the teeth of the saw blade (14) are
4.76 mm (3/16") from the edge of the guide roller.
Adjust the saw blade position if necessary.
Excessive tightening of the adjusting screws
(16) may cause damage to the tool.
Adjusting the saw blade position if necessary:
1. Turn the tool over and use the Allen key (17) to
unscrew both saw blade protection plates (6)
and remove them.
2. Rotate the clamping lever (1) clockwise until it
goes no further. This releases the saw blade
tension and the adjusting screws (16) are
accessible.
3. Loosen both nuts (15) with a 10 mm open-end
spanner (rotate in an anti-clockwise direction).
4. Turn both adjusting screws (16) 1/4 of a rotation
with the Allen key (6). NOTE: Turning the
adjusting screws (16) in a clockwise direction
moves the saw blade towards the guide roller.
Turning the adjusting screws (16) in an anti-
clockwise direction moves the saw blade away
from the guide roller.
5. Tighten both nuts (15) with a 10 mm open-end
spanner (rotate in a clockwise direction).
6. Rotate the clamping lever (1) anti-clockwise until
it goes no further. This tensions the saw blade.
7. It is necessary to start the saw to check the
setting. Monitor the running of the saw blade
during operation and repeat steps 1-7 if
necessary to correct the alignment of the saw
blade.
8. Tighten both saw blade protection plates (17)
with the Allen key (6).
9. Accessories
Use only genuine Metabo accessories.
14
Use only accessories which fulfil the requirements
and specifications listed in these operating
instructions.
A Chargers: ASC Ultra, ASC 15, ASC 30 and others
B Battery packs with different capacities. Use
battery packs only with voltage suitable for your
power tool.
C Saw blades
Information on choosing a saw blade (coarse
/ fine):
- Choose a coarse saw blade for a quick cut.
- Choose a fine saw blade for a smooth cutting
edge.
- Soft materials generally require coarse saw
blades. Hard materials generally require fine saw
blades.
- Take into account the size and shape of the
workpiece when choosing the saw blade: at least
2 teeth should touch the workpiece when the tool
is at a standstill.
See www.metabo.com or the catalogue for a
complete range of accessories.
10. Repairs
Repairs to electrical tools must only be carried
out by qualified electricians!
Contact your local Metabo representative if you

11. Environmental Protection

Observe national regulations on environmentally

power tools in your household waste! Used
power tools must be collected separately and
handed in for environmentally compatible recycling
in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC
on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its
implementation in national legal systems.
Battery packs may not be disposed of with regular
waste. Return faulty or used battery packs to your
Metabo dealer!
Do not allow battery packs to come into contact with
water!
Discharge the battery pack in the power tool before
