7. Maintenance and care
Changing rechargeable batteries
Important: rechargeable batteries must be replaced if the emergency-light module
stays ON for less than 3 h.
• Remove emergency-light module (Fig. 7.1)
• Remove used batteries and insert new batteries (Fig. 7.2)
Cleaning
The emergency-light module can be cleaned with a damp cloth (without detergents)
if dirty.
Maintenance
The emergency-light luminaire must be serviced at regular intervals in line with
national regulations.
Manual emergency-light test
"test" button on the back of the lamp (behind status LEDs) (Fig. 7.3)
• Briefly press "test" button.
The emergency-light goes into test mode for 30 s. The emergency-light and status
LEDs switch ON. The sensor-switched light's general function is overridden during
these 30 s.
Self-test
The emergency-light module tests itself automatically once a week. This test covers
the emergency-light LEDs, the charging facility and the rechargeable batteries.
The sensor-switched light continues to provide main light illumination and sensor
detection during the test.
The self-test is no substitute for the function check prescribed in national regulations
for emergency-light illumination.
Function test simulation via Smart Remote app
A function test can also be simulated for 1-5 min for an interconnected sensor-
switched lighting group with emergency-light module.
The simulated function test is no substitute for the function check prescribed
in national regulations for emergency-light illumination.
8. Disposal

an environmentally compatible manner.
Do not dispose of electrical and electronic equipment as domestic waste.
