Please read these instructions carefully and keep for future use.
Thank you for purchasing the sera reptil sun heat 130 W sun-
light day lamp for all terrariums. The sera reptil sun heat
130 W combines a mercury vapor lamp and infrared radiant
heater in one product. This combination is particularly well suit-
ed for very heat loving reptiles that at the same time require
irradiation from the UV-A/UV-B ranges for synthesizing vitamin
D
, since the natural sunlight spectrum of the sera lamp pro-

vides high UV-A and UV-B percentages. Simultaneous irradia-
tion with two kinds of light can thus be achieved comfortably
with one light source. By doing so, you will support health,
growth and well-being of sun loving reptiles.
SaFeTY PreCaUTIONS!
Please be sure to read carefully!
• Attention danger of burns! The sera reptil sun heat 130 W
becomes very hot. Allow it to cool down for at least 15 min-
utes after switching it off.
• Do not look directly into the lamp from a short distance and
without protecting glasses.
• The spectrum of the sera lamp contains a high percentage
of UV-A and UV-B irradiation. The daily irradiation time
should be adjusted to the requirements of the animals.
• Before the lamp is screwed into or out of a lamp fixture, dis-
connect it from the mains supply and allow it to cool down
for 15 minutes.
• It is advisable to monitor the temperature of the terrarium
continuously with a thermostat when using different heat
sources.
• Special lamp for terrariums. Not suitable for room lighting in
households.
application and application range
Due to the strong heat development, the sera reptil sun heat
130 W should be operated only in an E 27 ceramic fixture (e.g.
sera reptil ceramic holder). Plastic fixtures would melt. A bal-
last is not required.
Use within a terrarium should take place either in a protecting
cage (e.g. sera reptil protector cage) or in a reflector (e.g. sera
reptil alu reflector 150 and 200 with clip-on protector), as to
avoid contact burns on the animals. The sera lamp should be
installed in a way that the distance to the animals usually is at
least approx. 25 cm (9.8 in.).

The sera reptil sun heat 130 W must not be installed in an an-
gled position but is to be operated hanging down vertically. Do
not spray with water during operation, as the glass might burst
otherwise. Allow it to cool down for at least 15 minutes after
switching it off. It cannot be switched on again without cooling
down. Strong movements and knocks during operation or, in
particular, while cooling down may damage the lamp irrepara-
bly.
The lamp will switch off in case of being shattered strongly or
overheating. In case the lamp is not damaged it will automati-
cally switch on again after an appropriate cooling period.
You should check in a several hour test whether the tempera-
ture within the terrarium does not exceed levels critical for the
animals in question before operating the sera reptil sun heat
130 W for a longer time.
Cleaning
Switch the sera reptil sun heat 130 W off and let it cool down.
Unscrew it from the fixture. The glass part of lamp can be wiped
with a moist cloth and a neutral detergent. Do not submerge
under water. The screw thread should remain as dry as possi-
ble. Do not use any sharp edged nor abrasive cleaning agents
for cleaning.
Maintenance
Due to the high temperatures and the corresponding expansion
processes, you should occasionally check (only in cool condi-
tion), whether the lamp still sits firmly in its fixture.
The sera reptil sun heat 130 W cannot be repaired.
