Safety Notes

• This model may only be used with the operating system designed for it.
• Use only switched mode power supply units and transformers that are designed
for your local power system.
• This locomotive must never be supplied with power from more than one power
pack.
• Pay close attention to the safety notes in the instructions for your operating sys-
tem.
• Not for children under the age of 15.
• WARNING! Sharp edges and points required for operation.

• The operating instructions are a component part of the product and must therefore
be kept in a safe place as well as included with the product, if the latter is given to
someone else.
• The warranty card included with this product specifies the warranty conditions.

Functions

• This model is designed for operation on LGB two-rail DC systems with conventio-
nal LGB DC train controllers or power packs (DC, 0 - 24 volts).
• This model is ready for installation of a 55028 decoder.
• The locomotive cannot be switched to operation from catenary.
Note: Use a locomotive controller with more than 1 amp of train current for this
model.
Mode of Operation Switch
This model has a four-position mode of operation switch on its floor. The mode of
operation switch offers the following functions (Fig. 1&2):
Pos. 0 Locomotive stopped and stored without current
Pos. 1 Lighting turned on
Pos. 2 Locomotive motors and lighting turned on
Pos. 3 Same as Position 2
Multi-Train System
The model is equipped with a digital interface to connect the DCC decoder 55028. We
recommend to have the decoder mounted by the LGB factory service station.
When a decoder is integrated in the locomotive, the power control switch is obsolete.
Lighting
The lighting for this model changes with the direction of travel. The interior lighting is
always on. The headlight (Function) and the interior lighting (F1) can be turned on and
off with the 55028 decoder when the latter has been installed.
The lighting needs a track voltage of at least 5 volts. At a lower voltage, the model
runs without the lighting on.
Entry Doors
Fold the entry step under to open the entry doors (Figures 3/4). The doors will then
open. Fold the entry step back up to close the doors.
