Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS switch off and disconnect the tool from the power supply
before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning.
Cleaning
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves
when cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear
quickly, and shorten the device's service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a
mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
(where applicable)
Cleaning the paint container and nozzles
WARNING: Do not immerse the spray gun in water, or use flammable cleaning
agents.
1. Remove the Fluid Container (4) and pour unused paint or stain back into
container
2. Remove the pick-up pipe attached to the underside of the gun
3. Clean the Fluid Container and pick-up pipe thoroughly, using warm water or
suitable paint thinners
4. Pour a small quantity of warm water or thinners into the Fluid Container and
re-attach the pick-up pipe and container to the spray gun
5. Reconnect to mains power supply. Spray the water or thinners against scrap
material, until only clear fluid is ejected. Disconnect from mains power
supply
6. Unscrew the Nozzle Guard (1), and then the Nozzle (5), from the valve
assembly. Withdraw the Valve (6), Cylinder (7), Spring (8) and Piston (9) and
clean all parts thoroughly
7. Use the Cleaning Pin (13) to remove any paint from inside the Nozzle
Note: Replace the Nozzle if damaged or if dried paint residue cannot be removed.
One spare Valve (12) is supplied
8. Allow to dry, and reassemble
9. Remove the Fluid Container (4) and pick-up pipe and turn the spray gun
upside down then apply a few drops of light oil (Fig. I)
Storage
• Store this tool and its accessories in a dry, secure place out of the reach of
children
• Store this spray gun in a dry place, where it will not be subjected to freezing
temperatures
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no
longer functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE), with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to
dispose of power tools
• Spray guns may contain traces of solvents and paint residue, and must be
recycled accordingly
• Surplus paints, solvents and cleaning solutions must be disposed of according to
the manufacturer's instructions
