TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Unit will not power on.
Power light is on, but
no heat is emitting
from the unit.
Power cord gets warm
to the touch.
The heater is creating
a burning smell.
POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
Heater is not
plugged into a
120V outlet.
Heater may not be
level which will
activate the tip over
protection.
Room temperature
has warmed up to
match or exceed the
thermostat setting.
Normal operation.
Check and ensure
there are no
combustible
materials 3-FT
surrounding the
heater.
Ensure the unit is in OFF position. Plug in unit and
attempt to turn on again.
Ensure the heater is on a level surface and attempt
to turn on again.
Adjust the thermostat control knob to a higher
setting by turning clockwise.
This is normal for a heater appliance as it requires
more current to operate. Check the connections of
the appliance cord and the outlet. Make sure the
plug and outlet frequently to determine if it is HOT;
if so, discontinue use of the appliance and consult
overheating outlet(s).
If there are combustible materials adjacent to the
heater then remove them. It may be dust that has
accumulated on the heater element. If this is the
case the smell will be temporary and mild. If the
smell continues, unplug the unit and contact
customer service.
