Technical details

Battery
The checking, charging and maintenance of the battery must only be carried out by persons authorized and
trained to do so.
Charging
The battery must be charged at the latest when only two control lamps of the battery charge bar still light up.

Charging the battery presents dangers for man and the environment:
Danger of explosion or fire, acid burning, danger from electric current. Smoking is prohibited during charging
process. The storage of highly flammable, combustible materials in the vicinity of the charging station of the
pallet truck is prohibited.
In case of faults, accidents and hazardous situations appropriate measures are to be introduced. (Emergency
phone no. 112).
For charging the SHW E only use the dedicated charging device.
Preparation:
-
Check the battery before charging for damage to casing, raised lead plates and leaking acid.
Park the lifting truck securely and secure it against unauthorized use. Lower the forks.
Make sure that the charging station is well aired as an explosive mixture of hydrogen and air can be released
during the charging process.
Make sure that no tools (metal parts) are resting on the battery (danger of short circuit).
Connect the charging device with the charging connection of the battery (E723).
Charging:

Turn the power regulator to the minimum position. Connect the charging device to the alternating current
network.
Turn the charging device on (charging current 7-8 A). The battery is now being charged, the charging control
lamp lights up. When the charging control lamp and the charged-level control lamp light up alternately, the
charging process is complete.
Finish:

Turn the charging device off. Release the connection between the charging device and the battery.
Maintenance
Keep the battery clean.

Keep the electrical connections and the battery mounting in good condition. To prevent corrosion, you can

protect the mounting and connections with Vaseline.
If the device is not used for a long period, you must charge the battery at monthly intervals to guarantee a long
-
life.
Check the level of the battery liquid monthly and if required fill up after the charging process with distilled
-
water. Do not add any sulphuric acid.
The battery must not be completely drained. Avoid part-charging.
