heater, connect it at least half an hour
before starting work.
2. Open the booth cover and put the workpiece
to be handled inside. Workpieces can also
be put in through the openings in the
bushings. Check that there is enough
grinding medium in the vessels.
3. Close the booth cover and ensure it is leak-
tight (with the glass properly fitted into the
frame).
4. Put on protective goggles, gauntlets and a
face-mask as necessary.
5. Start up the forced draught exhauster. If the
workpiece is not clearly visible, connect
switch (C) to turn on the light in the booth.
6. Use the main switch (G) to select the vessel
to be used. The colour coding system used
makes it easy to see which is the active pan
at all times.
7. Pick up the moveable gun selected from
inside the booth (the colours of the gun
nozzle holders match the colours on the
vessel stoppers, i.e. red, yellow, green or
blue). Then press the drive pedal to start the
sand flow.
8. Direct the sand jet carefully: if it hits the
booth walls directly, it could damage them. If
you need to check the pressure or force of
the jet, direct it against the rubber guard (E)
on the left of the booth interior.
9. When you finish sandblasting, release the
pedal to stop sand flowing through the
nozzles.
The
mechanisms will cut in immediately to
relieve the pressure in the vessels. Stop the
exhauster and open the booth cover to
remove the workpiece.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
To ensure the apparatus has a long working life,
we recommend the following:
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
The silencer filter at the bottom of each
vessel must be changed every 6 months to
prevent perforations.
Always use top quality grinding medium.
Talleres
Mestraitua,
MESTRA grinding media. 1.25 or 1 mm
diameter nozzles for micro-sandblasting
guns work with grinding media up to 250 and
150 micron in diameter, respectively. 0.75
mm guns use media with diameters up to 75
microns (consult the table).
Dry piston air compressors are preferable.
Oil particles in the compressed air will create

lumps in the sand which may clog the gun
nozzles.
Never fill the tanks with grinding material
residues from the booth floor: they may
contain large-diameter particles which could
clog the nozzles, and are contaminated with
particles blasted off workpieces.
Never direct the jet of grinding media from
the guns directly at the booth walls, as the
resulting abrasion causes wear.
Clear the grinding media out of the booth
regularly via the drainage stopper inside the
booth.
Regularly bleed off any condensation which
builds up in the air inlet filter. The bleed
control is easily accessible on the rear of the
unit.
Clean the apparatus with a dry cloth or a
cloth slightly moistened in soapy water.
If the guns clog up, remove the nozzle holder
and remove the nozzle from inside. Clear it by
blowing against the normal air flow direction or
by inserting a pin or a thin wire, then fit it back
into the gun.
The table below shows the maximum diameters
of the grinding media for each nozzle diameter.

PRECAUTIONS
♦ Never use pressures of more than 5 bar.
Optimum working pressure is between 2 and
4 bar.
♦ Always work with the booth cover closed,
and wear protective clothing, including a
face-mask and goggles.
♦ Connect the booth outlet tube to an
exhauster.
♦ Immediately replace any broken protective
bushings.
♦ Do not allow children or unskilled personnel
to use the apparatus.
♦ Only use top quality grinding media: we
recommend MESTRA media. Low quality
grinding media may be toxic if inhaled and
may clog the compressed air nozzles.
♦ Connect the power cable to a 230 V, 50/60
Hz earthed power outlet.
♦ Ensure that the compressed air system used
to power the apparatus has at least one
protective pneumatic discharge valve.
