The R-070460 is a practical X-ray viewer designed for use in dental surgeries and
dental mechanics' workshops. To optimum performance proceed as follows:
INSTALLATION
• Set up the unit away from direct light sources to ensure the proper contrast when
examining plates. Ensure also that the unit is well away from sources of vibration,
moisture and heat.
• The X-ray viewer may be wall mounted with two hooks, which fit into the holes at the
back or set up on a worktop. For worktop set-ups, use the stand (D) supplied: this ensures
that the proper observation angle of 30º is maintained.
USING THE X-RAY VIEWER
Connect the unit to a 230 V, 50/60 Hz earthed power outlet.
Switch on the inside light (2 x 14 W fluorescent tubes) with On/Off switch (B).
Place the plate to be examined on the lit screen. The screen has a simple system for
clamping the plate during examination. To use this system, just press the screen gently and
insert the edge of the plate into the space around the frame of the unit.
After examination, always disconnect the unit to save energy and help conserve the
environment.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Clean the outside of the unit regularly with a cloth moistened in soapy water. Do not use
alcohol or other solvents.
If the fluorescent tubes or their starters need replacing, disconnect the unit from the power
supply and remove the two screws attaching the screen frame to the housing.
Do not scratch or scrape the front screen, or allow it to come into contact with solvents or
similar substances. If the screen becomes dark or damaged, it should be replaced.
PRECAUTIONS
♦ Ensure that the unit is connected to a 230 V, 50/60 Hz earthed power outlet.
♦ Do not allow children to handle the unit.
♦ Do not submerge the unit in any liquid when cleaning it.
♦ Disconnect the unit from the mains before cleaning it or replacing the fluorescent tubes.
♦ Handle fluorescent tubes with care: broken tubes can cause injuries.
