4.6. Preparing the foldable power
wheelchair for transport
You can fold the foldable power wheelchair up to save space when
transporting. When folded, you can transport it on a train or car, for
example. Please note that the Via cannot be transported in aeroplanes.

Folding up
When folding, make sure that the cable of the control unit does not
get caught. In addition, make sure that the armrests are locked (see
Chapter 4.2).
• Switch the foldable power wheelchair off
• Undo the interlock release on the rear and fold it up (Fig. 14)
• Grip the Via's back tube as high as possible and press the backrest

unit in the direction of the seat surface (Fig. 15.1, Fig. 15.2)
• Pull the transport safeguard through the opening on the footplate,
along the seat tube and through the push bar (Fig. 15.3) und fix it
in place.
To unfold, repeat the procedure in reverse order. Before setting off,
check that the interlock release on the backrest is in place.

Pushing and pulling
Take hold of the Via by the tube under the seat (Fig. 16). You can stand
the Via upright when folded and push or pull it to transfer it to the car,
for example.
RISK OF PINCHING! Note that there is an increased
risk of pinching when folding your foldable power
wheelchair.
RISK OF PINCHING! Only move the folded Via when
the transport safeguard is fitted correctly (Fig. 15.3)

4.7. Disassembling for storage

Avoid using metal tools, touching the battery terminals and follow the
manufacturer's instructions.
This work should only be carried out by an expert.
There is a risk of death!
• Open the battery housing underneath the seat (Fig. 18)
• Disconnect the plug connections between the battery and the
control unit (Fig. 13)
• Remove the batteries
• To store the foldable power wheelchair so that it takes up less
space, fold it up (see Chapter 4.6)
Please follow the battery information (see Chapter 6.3) during storage
as well as re-using the Via.
