from the reel, on the floor.
5.
Fit the hose stop.
6.
Carefully release the safety loop without turning the drum. Hang the loop on the
stand as shown in the picture.
7.
Release the latch mechanism by pulling the hose slightly in the direction of the
arrow. Then let the hose slowly coil up on to the reel drum.
4.3

Connection to the pipework system

See figure 4.
The reel must be connected to the pipework system with inlet hose only. Choose the
right connection position for the fixed pipework and fit the hose according to figure 4.
Check that the hose is not twisted after connection. A stop valve is to be fitted on the
pipe system before the hose connection , see figure 4A.

Ratchet mechanism

See figure 5.
Hose Reel 886 is delivered with a ratchet mechanism which retains the hose in the
required outdrawn position. The ratchet will disengage if the hose is drawn out a little
further and the hose then recoils to the drum. Note that the hose should be held by
hand as long as possible during the recoiling.
NOTE! If the hose is pulled out maximally, the ratchet could unfortunately become
permanently locked. It may be released by following procedure, see figure 5A:
1.
Remove the rubber plug from the drum side.
2.
Carefully turn the shaft 90° clockwise to the stop position.
NOTE! Do not force the shaft beyond this point.
3.
Pull the hose until the ratchet is released. Then let all the hose recoil to the drum.
4.
Turn the shaft 180° anti-clockwise, pass "click" position to stop position.
5.1

Adjustment of spring tension

See figure 6.
WARNING!
Risk of personal injury.
Use protection gloves.
1.
Recoil the hose until the hose stop stops against the outlet. Pull the hose out, to a
position where the ratchet is engaged.
2.
Remove the hose outlet.
3.
Increasing the spring tension: Turn the drum, with all hose wound on one
revolution in the direction of the arrow, see figure 6A.
Decreasing the spring tension: Turn the drum, with all hose wound on one
revolution in the direction of the arrow, see figure 6B.
4.
Fit the hose outlet.
5.
Check that the required length of hose can be pulled out without stretching the
spring to its limit.
