Safe baby wearing
To enjoy a safe baby wearing journey always keep your attention on your baby and check the following
points.
Tight
• The baby carrier should be comfortably tight, with the tummy and chest of the baby held close against
your body. (5)
• Loose fabric or buckles can allow your baby to slump, which can make it difficult for them to breathe.
Always in view & open airway
• You should be able to see your baby's face by glancing down. (6)
• Make sure that the fabric of your baby carrier is not in the way of their head and face. (6)
• Your baby should not be in a position where their chin is pushed onto their chest, as this can restrict
breathing. Make sure you can put at least one finger between the chin and chest. (6)
Close enough to kiss
• Your baby should be positioned as high on your chest as you find comfortable.
• If you tip your head forward, you should be able to kiss their forehead or the top of their head. (7)

Supported back
• Your baby's back should be supported in its natural position. (8)
• To check if the back is well supported: place a hand on their back and gently press. The baby should
not uncurl or move closer to you.
Healthy hip position
• To promote a healthy hip development, it is important to support your baby's hips and thighs up to
the knee. The baby's legs should be in a 'M' position whith their knees higher than their bottom. (9)
How to put on, tighten & open the waist belt
1. Place the waist belt around the waist area, with the inside of the waist belt facing you.
2. Close the waist belt buckle in front. It is locked when you hear a click. (10)
3. Tighten by pulling on both straps.
4. Rotate the waist belt until the waist belt buckle is in the back. (11)
5. Tighten extra when necessary to make it tight enough. (12)
6. To open the waist belt buckle, press all three buttons simultaneously and release. (13)
How to use the shoulder strap buckles
1. To close the shoulder strap buckles, slide the top part onto the bottom part from the side. (14)
2. To tighten the shoulder straps, pull the straps away from the shoulder strap buckle. (15)
3. To loosen the shoulder straps, press the button on top of the shoulder strap buckle. (16)
4. To disconnect the shoulder strap buckle, push the button at the bottom side of the buckle and pull the
buckle forward to disconnect the shoulder strap buckle. (17)
• Tip! Use the extra comfort pad around the straps for added comfort. (18)
Front carry inward-facing with crossed (X) straps, > 4 weeks
• Tip! Practise the following steps with a doll or teddy bear until you feel confident.
1. The front carry inward-facing position works without the air cushion, so keep the air cushion empty in
this position.
2. Place the waist belt around your waist. Connect the waist belt buckle in front. It is locked when you
hear a click. Rotate the waist belt until the waist belt buckle is in the back. Tighten the waist belt.
3. Place your baby facing you. (19)
4. Fit the main body of the baby carrier over the back of your baby. (20)
5. Take the right shoulder strap, cross it behind your back and connect it with the left shoulder belt
buckle. (21)
6. Do the opposite for the left shoulder strap. (22)
7. Both buckles are locked when you hear a click.
8. Tighten the shoulder straps. (23)
9. Check and correct baby's posture with a pelvic tuck: place your hands inside the babycarrier low on
your baby's back. Move your hands down and towards you and rotate baby's bottom so that baby's
crotch is angled towards you and the knees are raised. The spine of the baby should have a natural 'C'
curve. (24)
• Tip! For small infants you can open the leg support zippers slightly, to ensure knee-to-knee
support. (25)
• Tip! Use the sun canopy as a visual input shield, to calm your baby down and make it go to
sleep more easily. (26)
• To take the baby out follow the steps in reverse order. Always keep a hand on your baby.
