Additional safety instructions
for batteries and chargers
BATTERIES
• Never attempt to open for any
reason.
• Do not store in locations where the
temperature may exceed 40°C.
• Charge only at ambient
temperatures between 10°C and
40°C.
• Charge only using the chargers
provided with the appliance.
• When disposing of batteries, follow
the instructions given in the section
"Protecting the environment".
• Under extreme conditions, battery
leakage may occur. When you
notice liquid on the batteries,
carefully wipe the liquid off using a
cloth. Avoid skin contact.
• In case of skin or eye contact,
follow the instructions below.
CHARGERS
Your charger has been designed for
a specific voltage. Always check that
the mains voltage corresponds to the
voltage on the rating plate.
Warning! Never attempt to replace
the charger unit with a regular mains
plug.
Use your Black & Decker charger
only to charge the battery in the
appliance with which it was supplied.
Other batteries could burst, causing
personal injury and damage.
• Never attempt to charge non-
rechargeable batteries.
• Have defective cords replaced
immediately.
• Do not expose the charger to water.
• Do not open the charger.
• Do not probe the charger.
The battery must be placed in a well
ventilated area when charging.
DO NOT OVERCHARGE:
• AC recharge up to 10 hours
maximum.

• After recharge, disconnect the
charging adapter and wait 5
minutes before use.
The following symbols are
found on your charger:
Your charger is double
insulated; therefore no
earth wire is required.
Fail-safe isolating
transformer. The mains
supply is electrically
separated from the
transformer output.
The charger is intended
for indoor use only.
Electrical safety
Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the
rating plate.
• If the supply cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer in order to avoid a
hazard.

CHARGING THE LIGHT
BAR
• Make sure that the light bar is
switched off (the on/off/brightness
switch is in the O position).
Warning! Do not charge for longer
than 10 hours.
• Insert the charger jack plug into the
12 Vdc charging socket.
• Insert the mains charging adaptor
into a mains power socket.
• The red battery status LED will
illuminate to show that the product

is charging (do not charge for more
than 10 hours).
• Once the product is fully charged
the red battery status LED will
flash.
• Remove the mains charging
adaptor from the mains power
socket.
• Remove the charger jack plug from
the 12Vdc charging socket.
USE
Using the hook
• The hook may be used to store or
suspend the light bar. The hook
rotates so that the light bar can
be set to any position. Make sure
that the hook is secure around the
supporting object.
Operating the light bar
• To illuminate half of the LED's move
the on/off/brightness switch to the
position.
• To illuminate all of the LED's move
the on/off/brightness switch to the
position.
• To turn the unit off, move the on/off/
brightness switch to the O position.
MAINTENANCE
Your Black & Decker appliance has
been designed to operate over a
long period of time with a minimum
of maintenance. Continuous
satisfactory operation depends upon
proper care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any
maintenance or cleaning of the
appliance, unplug the unit from the
power supply.
• From time to time wipe the
appliance with a damp cloth. Do
not use any abrasive or solvent-
based cleaner. Do not immerse the
appliance in water.

Correct disposal of this

product should not be disposed with
other household wastes throughout
the EU. To prevent possible harm to
the environment or human health
from uncontrolled waste disposal,
recycle it responsibly to promote the
sustainable reuse of material

device, please use the return and
collection systems or contact the
retailer where the product was
purchased.
They can take this product
for environmentally safe
recycling.
Separate collection of used products
and packaging allows materials to be
recycled and used again. Re-use of
