Never remove the radiator cap or expansion tank cap
while the engine is at operating temperature. Always
allow the engine to cool before removing the radiator
cap or expansion tank cap. the cooling system is
under pressure. Failure to allow the engine to cool
before opening the cooling system could result in
serious injuries.
set-up & Procedure
1.
Drain engine cooling system.
2.
Hold the lower knob (6) on the expandable rubber adapter
(7) and turn the top tension knob (5) counter-clockwise
until all tension has been relieved (See Fig. 1,A).
3.
Wipe inner diameter of filler neck or expansion bottle with
a clean rag to remove any coolant residue. Many coo-
lants act as lubricants and can cause the cooling System
Adapter (1) to slip out during pressure testing.

Insert expandable adapter plug (7) into the filler neck (8)
of the radiator or expansion tank.
5.
While holding the bottom knob (6), rotate the top knob
(5) of the adapter (1) clockwise until adapter plug (7) fully
engages the interior wall of the filler neck (8).

to test the adapter plug connection, slowly pull up
on the adapter (1). the adapter plug (7) should hold
firmly in the filler neck (8). If necessary, tighten the adapter
plug (7) by adjusting the tension knobs (5,6) (See Fig. 1,
b).
6.
connect the Vacuum Pump Assembly (2) to the cooling
System Adapter (1) utilizing the quick coupler connection
(9). Attach an Air-Connector (not included) (11) to fitting
(10) on the Vacuum Pump Assembly (2) (See Fig 1,c).

connect shop air supply (12) to Air-connector (11) on
Vacuum Pump Assembly (2).
