2. SAFETY INFORMATION
DANGER
All work on HYDAC bladder accumulators must only be
carried out by suitably trained staff.
Incorrect installation or handling can lead to serious
accidents. The relevant protective measures must be taken
(e.g. aggressive operating media)
Gases under pressure.
After discharging and/or completely draining the hydraulic
accumulator (e.g. to depressurise the hydraulic system
before work is carried out), the accumulator can build up an
EN
amount of pressure again if the lines are later shut off on the
fluid side.
All the fluid-side lines connected to the hydraulic
accumulator must therefore be depressurised and after that
the lines must remain open.
Only then may the hydraulic accumulator be removed from
the hydraulic system.
Before working on the hydraulic accumulator itself, the gas
side of the hydraulic accumulator must be depressurised
and remain open. Ensure that the gas side is depressurised.
Only then may the appropriate work (e.g. disassembly of the
hydraulic accumulator) be carried out.
When disassembling or assembling the hydraulic
accumulator ensure that it is adequately secured across the
cylindrical part of the accumulator only. Damage must be
avoided.
Any operating fluid that leaks must be collected!
Pressure tests (e.g. for repeat tests) must not be carried out
using the separating element (bladder).
Corresponding locking pieces are obtainable from HYDAC.
The media compatibility of the locking pieces used is to be
checked.
On no account must any welding, soldering or mechanical
work be carried out on the bladder accumulator.
Hydraulic accumulators must only be charged
with nitrogen. Never use oxygen or air,
Risk of explosion!
Danger of bursting and loss of operating
permission if machining and/or welding/
soldering operations are carried out!
WARNING
The accumulator shell can become hot.
Risk of burns.

3. DISASSEMBLY OF THE
HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR
NOTICE
Safety precautions according to section 2. must be
observed.
For item numbers see diagram 3 I – 3 IV.
3.1. REMOVAL
– Carefully clean the zone around the gas and fluid side
connections.
– Depressurize the fluid side of the hydraulic accumulator
(p = 0 bar).
DANGER
When nitrogen is released from hydraulic accumulators in
enclosed spaces, adequate ventilation must be provided.
Risk of suffocation.
WARNING
As a basic rule, always release the pre-charge pressure
(p
) first.
0
Do not dismount connections while under pressure,
Danger of injury.
Use the HYDAC FPU to release the gas side pre-charge
pressure (p
).
0
– Unscrew protective cap (6) and seal cap (5).
– Completely discharge gas pre-charge pressure (p
HYDAC FPU.
3.2. DISASSEMBLY
– Unscrew and remove the lock nut (4) using a suitable tool.
– Check that it is depressurised by pushing in the gas valve
insert (3).
