Electrode welding process

Connecting the electrode cable
Connect the electrode cable to the minus 2 or plus 5 sock-
et and secure the cable by turning it to the right.
Heed the electrode manufacturer's instruc-
i i
tions.

Connecting the ground cable

Connect the ground cable to the free minus 2 or plus 5
socket and secure the cable by turning it to the right.
Fix the ground clamp
Fig. 1:
Connecting the ground cable - Correct!
Mount the ground clamp in the immediate vicinity of the
welding point such that the welding current cannot find
its own way via machine components, ball bearings or
electrical circuits.
Connect the ground clamp firmly to the welding bench or
the workpiece.
Fig. 2:
Connecting the ground cable - Incorrect!
Do not place the ground clamp on the welding machine or
the gas cylinder; otherwise the welding current will be car-
ried via the protective conductors and it will destroy these.

Connect the power supply
The machine is suitable for operation on the mains supply or
on a current generator.
Plug the mains plug into the appropriate socket.
The mains voltage and tolerance as well as the
fusing must comply with the technical data.
(see Technical Data)

TIG welding process

Danger due to electric shock!
If function HF-ignition (31) is selected, a
high ignition voltage is present at the torch.
Never touch the welding electrode or parts
conducting welding current when the de-
vice is switched on.

Connecting the torch

Connect the torch to the socket 2 and secure it by turning
it to the right.
Connect the torch's gas line to the gas connection 4.
Plug the connector of the torch control cable into the
torch switch socket 3.
Only the control cable of a torch may be con-
nected to the torch switch socket 3.
Inserting the electrode

Torch
 Unscrew the clamping cap 51.
Remove the electrode 50 from the clamping sleeve 52.
Grind the end of the electrode 50.
Slide the electrode into 50 the collet 52.
Insert the electrode 50 into the torch and screw the clamp-
ing cap down 51 tight.
Do not disassemble the collet body 53 and the
i i
gas nozzle 54.
