Removing Paint or Varnish
1.
When removing several layers of paint or varnish, remove as
much as possible with a paint solvent or varnish remover.
2.
Scrape away the residue with a putty knife or other scraping
tool and allow the surface to cool and dry before applying sander
to the workpiece.
3.
Select a coarse grit sandpaper disc to help prevent the sand-
paper from clogging.
4.
Keep the sander moving over new areas to avoid heating and
softening the old coating (paint or varnish).
5.
Work in wide, overlapping strokes to produce a uniform finish.
6.
As the workpiece begins to show through the old coating, switch
to a medium grit sandpaper disc to avoid scratching the sur-
face of the workpiece. Gradually switch to a fine grit sandpa-
per until you achieve the desired finish

Décapage de peintures et vernis
1.
Lorsque vous décapez plusieurs couches de peinture ou de
vernis, enlevez le plus gros à l'aide d'un décapant à peinture
et vernis.
2.
Grattez le résidu d'enduit avec un couteau à mastiquer ou un
grattoir et laissez la surface sécher et refroidir avant d'y
appliquer la ponceuse.

Choisissez un disque abrasif à grains grossiers pour prévenir
l'encrassement
4.
Déplacez constamment la ponceuse sur l'ensemble de la sur-
face pour éviter la surchauffe et l'encrassement.
5.
Poncez en larges mouvements que vous ferez se chevaucher
pour obtenir un fini uniforme.
6.
Lorsque vous voyez apparaître la surface du matériau de base,
changez pour un disque en papier d'émeri plus fin pour ne pas
causer d'égratignures. Continuez le ponçage en changeant
graduellement pour du papier plus fin jusqu'à obtention du fini
désiré.
