11-14 FORD EDGE (EXCEPT SPORT MODEL)
1. Remove both heat shields (3 screws and a plastic insert on each side) using a 6mm socket .
2. Trim both heat shields as shown in Figure 2 using Tin Snips.
3. Using the kink wire method of feeding fasteners as shown in Figure 3, attach the ½" X 2" carriage bolt and
1/4" spacer block to the pull wire. First feed forward most fasteners into place on both rails using the
access at the end of the frame rail. On the outside end of the rails there is a wide notch to make this
process easier. Second feed rearward fasteners into location using the same method .
Note: Make sure spacers are sitting flat on the rails and not on existing weld nuts.
4. Replace trimmed heat shield using the 6 mm bolt and plastic insert that was removed in Step 1.
Note: Do not replace the two bolts that mount onto the vehicle frame.
5. Raise the side brackets into position with a ½" spacer block over holes 1 and 3. lining up hole 1 and hole 3
in side bracket with the carriage bolts from the frame rail. Loosely install a ½" conical washers and hex
nuts on the bolts. Repeat for other side.
6. Install center section per SIDE BRACKET LOCATION 2. (See page 2.)
