Electrical safety
1. Ensure the rated voltage
shown on the rating label
corresponds with the voltage
of the power supply.
2. Do not operate any appliance

appliance malfunctions or has
been damaged in any manner.
3. Protect the power cord against
damages. Do not let it hang
over sharp edges, do not
squeeze or bend it. Do not
place the appliance on the
power cord. Keep the power
cord away from hot surfaces
and ensure that nobody can
trip over it.
4. Do not open the housing
under any circumstances. Do
not insert fingers or foreign
objects in any opening of the
appliance and do not obstruct
the air vents.
5. Protect the appliance against
heat. Do not place close to
open flames or heat sources
such as stoves or heating
appliances.
3. After use
Cleaning
•
Switch off and unplug the appliance before
cleaning or maintenance.
•
Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong
chemicals, alkali, abrasive or toxic agents, as they
may damage the surface of the appliance and
pose a health hazard.
• Use little or no water during cleaning. Make sure
that no water enters the appliance while cleaning
it.
• Remove dried food remains with a plastic or
wooden spatula.
• Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance daily
with a soft damp cloth and a little mild detergent.
The glass surfaces can also be cleaned with a
window cleaner. Dry with a soft dry cloth.
• If the shelves are very dirty, remove them from the
appliance and clean them with warm water and
mild detergent, using a soft sponge. Dry with a
soft dry cloth.
• Leave the sliding doors open to allow the inside of
the appliance to dry.
• Regularly clean the ventilation openings with
a soft brush or the crevice nozzle of a vacuum
cleaner.
• The appliance may only be used again or stored
after it is dried completely.
Defrosting
•
The appliance defrosts itself automatically every
4 hours (GCV1100)/every 6 hours (GCV1600).
The dot underneath the defrost symbol
up (GCV1100)/the defrost indicator
(GCV1600).
Notes:
•
The defrost process takes approx. 25 minutes.
•
Keep the light button
button
(GCV1600) pressed for approx. 6
seconds to cancel an active defrost process.
•
Automatic defrosting is deactivated when the
ambient temperature is above 20°C. The dot
underneath the defrost symbol
(GCV1100)/the defrost symbol
(GCV1600).
•
You can also start a manual defrost process by
keeping the light button
button
(GCV1600) pressed for approx. 6
seconds.
Note: The next automatic defrost process starts
4 hours (GCV1100)/6 hours (GCV1600) after the
manual defrost process.
