Service and Maintenance

Maintenance intervals to DIN 31 051
Inspection = Determination of the actual condition.
Servicing = Actions to maintain the specified condition.
Repair = Actions to restore the specified condition.
Maintenance = Inspection, servicing, repair if required.
Proper servicing includes actions to maintain the speci-
fied condition. The pump must be kept free from oil and
grease and must be protected from dirt.
The operator of the unit is requested to demand a certif-
icate about the type and extent of the repair, if neces-
sary stating the change of nominal data or the working
area of the person servicing and repairing the unit.
This certificate must also include the date as well as the
name of the company and signature of the person ser-
vicing or repairing the unit
Every 6 months
Unscrew the sealing plugs (1) from the charging con-
nections.
Conduct a recovery test for high-pressure hoses/charg-
ing hoses (accessories), in Germany in accordance
withTRG 402/9.2 and resolution DBA 01-82.
Every 25 operating hours, at least once a month
Check the sealing of the booster pump and the installa-
tion.
Every 200 operating hours
Replace the piston sealings. If the charging times for
comparable operating conditions (primary pressure/fill-
ing volume/ambient temperature) extend by 20% com-
pared with the initial measurement, replace the piston
sealings before 200 operating hours have been
reached.
Every 12 months
Check the sealing of all hoses by means of a pressure
test.
Every 1,000 operating hours, no later than
after 5 years
Basic overhaul by Dräger.
NOTICE
We recommend a basic overhaul of the unit at least
every 5 years (or after approx. 500 operating hours).
Replacing/checking the strainer inserts in
the connections
 Unscrew the strainer inserts (2) from the charging
connections – check for dirt (dark discolouration) –
replace the strainer inserts if necessary (order no.:
see "Order List" on page 26).
 Check the condition of the sealings (3), replace if
necessary (order no.: see "Order List" on page 26).
 Assemble the sealings (3) and the strainer
inserts (2).
 Screw on the sealing plugs (1).

Exchanging the Swivel Heads

 Loosen the hexagon head screw (3) at the swivel
head holder (2) and remove the bolt (1) using two
wrenches (17 mm A/F).
 Remove the bolt (7) and the hexagon head screw (5)
at the pull-lever (6).
 Remove the swivel heads (4) and replace with new
ones. When inserting the new swivel heads, make
sure that the two heads are screwed into one anoth-
er like the old ones (normally 5 threads). Otherwise
the distance of stroke will change.
 Tighten the hexagon head screws with 35 Nm
torque.
