REPAIR AND CLEANING PROCEDURE
CLEAN OR REPLACE THE FOOT VALVE
1. Place the main pump tube (76) in a vice. Unscrew the inlet body (83).
Do not damage the tube by over tightening the vice.
2. Fasten the priming rod in lower part (85) and unscrew the nyloc nut
(87). Remove the priming valve (86).
3. Remove the disc valve (80). Examine the valve (80), the seat in foot
valve (83) and priming rod (85) for any damage. Replace if it's
necessary.
4. Replace seal (82) and V-ring seal (78), making sure its lips are facing up.
5. Assembly the foot valve following this section, reversing each step.
NOTE: all these parts are included in the kit 754841.
CLEAN OR REPLACE THE PACKING NUT
1. Separate the air motor from pump, following the appropriate
procedure (page 3).
2. Unscrew the packing nut (62) and lift it from the packing rod (68). The
seal (63) should be stayed with the packing nut, if it stayed in the
pump, slide it up the packing rod gently until is free.
3. Examine the packing nut (62) and the rod (68) for wear and or
damage as if they are defective any new packing rod seal will fail. If
the nut is faulty this will replaced now, but if the rod is faulty the
pump will have to be completely dismantled (please, follow the
section clean and replace piston valve) page 14.
4. Into the gland (62): replace seal (64), the two slide tings (70) and the
scraper (79). Also replace the packing rod seal (63), with its lips facing
down, lightly greasing to aid assembly.
5. Push the nut (62) and seals over the packing rod (68) until the nut
thread engages with the outlet body thread (66). Assemble the pump
following first section (separate the air motor from the pump),
reversing each step.
NOTE: all these parts are included in the kit 754842.
