4. INSTALLATION
Before carrying out any installation operation, pay attention to the chapter GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Always comply with the local regulations in force in the country where the station is destined, it may be necessary to install a siphon or a non-return
valve on the connection pipe to the sewage system.
Make sure that the pump is fixed to the pipes and that all connections are watertight and not under stress.
DrenoBox stations can be installed internally or externally, the cover can be walked but not driven on.
4.1 LAYING THE TANK
In indoor installations, make sure that the floor on which the tank will be placed is perfectly horizontal and suitable to support the weight of the
station when it is full and working.
In outdoor installations, do not expose the tank to heat or sunlight in certain periods of the year, do not place it directly on the ground. It is impor-
tant that the ground shows no groundwater and is not subject to flooding.
There must be a horizontal base suitable to support the weight of the station during operation; based on the characteristics of the ground, it is
advisable to create brick or concrete walls, and compact them with clean sand to avoid any station movement.
Attention: the cover can be walked but not driven on. We recommend the station is protected from frost.
You can proceed with the positioning of a manhole cover (or another aid) over the pit to make maintenance easier, provide suitable signals and
avoid possible accidental damage.
4.2 PREPARATION FOR PIPING CONNECTIONS
Hydraulic connections must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Dreno Box stations offer multiple entry options on the sides and at the top. The delivery pipe to be connected to the pump is supplied with the
station depending on the model chosen.
4.3 INLET PIPING
The station offers different arrangements for inlet pipes (FIG. 1).
For the installation of the inlet pipes it is necessary to drill the tank with a drill bit with the diameter indicated according to the pipe:
TUBE diameter 50 = bit diameter F 60mm
TUBE diameter 110 = bit diameter F 125mm
After drilling, apply the provided rubber gasket to ensure perfect sealing. The use of sealants is not necessary. Check the piping diameter well before
drilling the station.
4.4 VENTILATION DUCT
The ventilation duct has the purpose of avoiding the formation of flammable, explosive and toxic mixtures, it also prevents the overpressure due to
the liquid entering the tank or the depression due to the pumping phase.
Apply a vent pipe with a 50 diameter using the arrangement in the upper part (FIG. 1) and the gasket provided.
National standards may require different ratios between the outlet and vent pipe diameters. Make sure that the outlet of the pipe is outdoors and
that the discharged gases cannot in any way enter into places such as buildings or rooms, avoid horizontal sections.
4.5 DELIVERY PIPE
Depending on the model, DrenoBox stations have a 1"1/4 - 1"1/2 - 2" delivery outlet.
Fixing the delivery pipe must be done as per (FIG. 2).
Fixing the ring nut ensures perfect tightness of the pipe in the tank and gives stability to the pump connected in the bottom (FIG. 2.4).
The delivery pipe is equipped with a pipe union that allows separating the pump without removing the pipe from the system (FIG. 2.1).
For horizontal delivery pumps a curve is provided according to the delivery diameter which allows the connection. (FIG. 2.1)
The station can be fitted with a bottom coupling device already installed together with the delivery pipe. Slide the pump fitted with a coupling flange
through the guide tubes to couple the pump to the system.
4.6 POSITIONING THE PUMPS
Unscrew the 4 screws positioned on the sides of the cover fixed to the tank.
Place the pump on the bottom and connect it to the delivery pipe as described in point 4.5.
4.7 CABLE GLAND SYSTEM
DrenoBox stations are fitted with smart cable glands through which power cables and floats can be passed. 2 through cable glands for the insertion
of connectors or die-cast floats and 2 closed cable glands that close the entrance are supplied.
For the insertion of connectors and floats it is sufficient to open the cable gland longitudinally to the cut located along the through cable gland
(FIG. 2.3). It will be necessary to record the length of the cables inside the station, so that they are not an obstacle to the work of the pump and the
stroke of the floats.
