Dialysate Path
The concentrate connectors draw acid and bicarbonate concentrates from the supply canister. Next the
machine mixes the concentrates with AAMI Standard water into dialysate. The dialysate then runs
through the dialyzer and out the machine's drain line.
Red acid and blue bicarbonate connectors
The red and blue concentrate connectors shown above in Figure 1 draw acid and bicarbonate
concentrates from the supply canisters. The concentrate connectors pull out of the machine and snap
into the acid and bicarbonate canister with the help of a connector cap. Without the connector cap,
the acid and bicarbonate connectors would not be able to connect to the appropriate canister. The
connector cap aids the transfer of acid and bicarbonate from the canister to the machine. Follow the
steps on the next page in order to successfully attach the connector cap to the canister and the
concentrate connector to the cap.
Concentrate Canister Connector Cap
The connector cap screws onto the top of concentrate canister. The Acid and Bicarbonate connectors
snap into the caps so the machine can pull concentrate from the canisters.
