Figure 2 above demonstrates the process to properly connect the cap and the concentrate connector to
the canister. The blue (bicarbonate) side shows the step by step process while the red (acid) side shows
the finished product after following the proper steps.
1. Check Acid and Bicarbonate Canister
Before startup, make sure that the acid and bicarbonate canisters are at appropriate levels.
2. Attach Connector caps
Screw on the connector caps to the canister. Make sure they are tight and that the tip of the
wand is submerged in concentrate.
3. Remove Concentrate Connectors
Remove the acid (red) and bicarbonate (blue) connectors from the front of the machine and
attach them to the connector caps on the appropriate canister.
4. Check System
After step 3, make sure that all the connections are tight and secure. Once they are, you are
ready to successfully pull acid and bicarbonate concentrates from the canister.
Cleaning
Follow your clinic's instructions on disinfecting the concentrate canister and connector caps. Refer to
the 2008 Series Hemodialysis Machine Operator's Manuals for additional information.
