4. Press and hold the SCAN button. The thermometer will take a reading and
make a 'beep' sound, indicating the measurement is complete.
NOTE: The thermometer will beep twice and display the 'ear' symbol when the
thermometer is ready to take another measurement.
5. Remove the thermometer from the ear canal. The thermometer will display
the result on the backlit LCD screen.
NOTE: The thermometer is ready to take another measurement once the EAR
temperature symbol appears again on the screen. However, it is
recommended to wait at least 20 seconds before taking another
measurement to avoid excessive skin cooling which could affect the
accuracy.
6. Since the lens covers are recommended to only be used 1 time, please
discard the used lens cover by squeezing the Lens Cover Ejector.
7. After 1 minute, the thermometer will automatically shut OFF.
NOTE: This thermometer is equipped with a Fever Indicator showing the
symbols below on the LCD.

How To Take A Reading - Object

NOTE: Before taking the measurement of an Object, please ensure the
thermometer has been switched to Object Mode - see Changing
Measurement Modes. No lens cover is required to measure an object. Eject
the lens cover if necessary.
1. If the thermometer is OFF, press the POWER button to turn
it ON. The screen will run a quick self test then appear as
shown in Fig. 1 indicating the thermometer is ready to take
a measurement.
2. Aim the probe tip of the thermometer at the center of the
object you want to measure. Keep the probe tip 0.25" ~
0.75" (1cm ~ 2cm) away from the object.
